Yaskawa Electric develops small 6-axis robot Moto MINI2016-11-09
Yaskawa Electric has developed a small 6-axis robot "MotoMINI". It is envisaged that the purpose of coexistence and co-operation with people, such as the assembly of small parts, operation, and matching and insertion of electrical and electronic components. In the future the company plans to use its own production system to verify the function of the robot to reach a practical level. New robot can be mentioned there are three features: (1) small lightweight, (2) high-speed, (3) high precision. (1) The use of Yasukawa Electric motor technology. Transportable weight of 500g, the maximum extension distance of 246mm, weight 4.3kg. Can be used to pick up the size of removal, can also be installed on the table. (2) Compared with the original smallest model of YASKAWA, the motion acceleration is doubled, and the tact time of the specific motion is shortened by 25%. Can be used for high-speed assembly of parts, with and insert purposes. (3), so that repeated positioning accuracy to the ± 0.02mm (reference value). Household appliances and mobile phones and other production sites require flexible changes in the work of people and robots to share, to meet a variety of small-scale production. Therefore, it is necessary to realize the multi-skill of the robot and to change the operation contents while coexisting with the human being. In order to meet this demand, Yasukawa Electric has developed a new robot. By combining the production line monitoring technology based on M2M and cloud and remote maintenance technology, the robot has the flexibility and scalability to meet the requirements of multi-variety and small-scale production. Safety is also fully considered and can be used in conjunction with humans. By the way, Yasukawa Electric is scheduled to exhibit the new robot at the Robot Village and Yasukawa Electric Future Hall in the new headquarters (Kitakyushu City) starting from June 2015.
